Lactation Rooms on Campus
Connect with chest/breastfeeding parents and specialists
- Register for and plan to attend the Lactation Resource Group, open to faculty, staff, students, post docs, and their partners. Breastfeeding events and discussion groups are hosting regularly on campus.
- Students and Postdocs can contact the Family Center staff at familycenter@upenn.edu with questions about lactation support or for assistance with securing accommodations.
Free Medela Symphony Breast Pump Kits Available
The Penn Women's Center has several Medela Symphony breast pump kits available to give away. If you are interested in receiving a pump kit, please email pwc@pobox.upenn.edu. These kits connect to Medela Symphony double breast pumps, which are available for use at many campus lactation rooms.
Penn Medicine Breastfeeding Services Penn Ob/Gyn Care provides breastfeeding support via classes, discussion groups, and lactation consultants. In addition, the Solutions for Women at Pennsylvania Hospital sells a variety of maternity, breastfeeding and new parent products including pumps, nursing bras, abdominal supports, books and more. Penn Medicine is also proud to be part of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), an international breastfeeding education and support program.
CHOP Breastfeeding and Lactation Program CHOP provides support services and resources for breastfeeding parents, including those who have babies with special needs.
Breastfeeding Resource Center This Montgomery County non-profit center (215-886-2433) provides expert clinical and educational breastfeeding services such as support groups, parent classes, and services offered by certified lactation consultants.

Pennsylvania Department of Health The Pennsylvania Department of Health offers extensive information on promoting breastfeeding awareness and support.
Breastfeeding Education From the Office of Women’s Health Learn more about breastfeeding and find tips and suggestions to help you successfully breastfeed. Womenshealth.gov has information about breastfeeding in both English and Spanish.
CDC Breastfeeding Information The CDC is committed to increasing breastfeeding rates throughout the United States and promoting and supporting optimal breastfeeding practices.
